  • How Should I Dress for Class?

    Over-the-ankles gymshoes or boots; long sleeve shirt or jacket; jeans; full-fingered gloves; we provide the full-faced helmets or you may bring your own.  Remember, to dress appropriately for inclement weather.

    What size motorcycles do you use?
    Our training motorcycles vary in make and model.  The engine size varies from 125-2500cc.  They are the perfect size for beginner novice motorcyclist.

    What if it rains?

    You're fortunate if your training experience includes rain.  Most motorcyclists only experience of learning to ride in the rain comes from making adjustments after being caught in the rain. 

    At ICS, you'll have a excellent opportunity to get special instruction from our seasoned professionals on riding in inclement weather conditions.

    Classes run rain or shine, therefore, if it rain, be prepared by having rain gear.

    What if I do not pass?

    At ICS, we pride ourselves on your personal performance.  Although we cannot gaurantee your passing, we offer additional training at no charge. 

    Do I need a license or permit to take the class?
    Yes, a motorcycle learners permit is not only required...it's MANDATORY!  Please go to the courses tab to download the study guide.

    What if I want to take the class again?

    At ICS, you're part of our family.  If you need to take additional training or remedial coaching, we encourage you to sit-in on another class for remedial training. The remedial skill classes focus on specific skill building exercises that will aid in your motor-skills development. You may sit-in for one or several exercises until you feel prepared to test.  Of course, at NO additional charge...remember, you're family!

     

    Do I have to go to the S.O.S to get my license after taking the class?
    At ICS, we offer you the convenience of one-stop shopping.  After successful completion of the MSF curriculum, a Illinois Secretary of State official examiner is regularly scheduled to administer third party testing at our site.  Of course, you can use the motorcycle that you learned on at no additional charge.  Our practice range is conveniently located on-site. No Driving!

    How old do I need to be?
    18 or Older

    What do I need for the classroom?

    A pen, highlighter, drivers license, motorcycle learners permit, balance of payment (if necessary) & a positive attitude.

    You may also want to bring sunscreen and water to hydrate your body. Plan to dress in layers in case of inclement weather.

    Do I need a helmet?
    No

    Do I need a motorcycle?
    No

    If I change my mind can I get my money back?
    Your down payment of $99 is non-refundable. The remainder is only refunded if we are formally notified in writing 7 calendar days prior to your class start date.

    What if I am late or miss a class?
    Students must attend both classes. Missing or being late will automatically disqualify you from class participation.  You may reschedule for another available class within same calender season.

    What if I do not show up?
    You will be charged unless you follow our 7-day cancellation policy.

    What qualifications do the instructors have?
    Illinois Council of Safety has the finest certified instructors available. Our instructors go through an intensive certification process. They are ALL certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Additionally, the must attend annual updates, and are routinely monitored for patience, performance and skill while coaching. We take pride in your learning!
